Dawn Ostroff, who recently stepped down as president of The CW, was appointed president of Condé Nast Entertainment, Condé Nast president Robert A. Sauerberg, Jr. announced today.

Her newly created position involves development, creation, production and distribution of multimedia content for the magazine publisher’s existing brands.

“There is an enormous, untapped opportunity at Condé Nast to develop unique and engaging programming,” said Mr. Sauerberg in an announcement.  “Dawn’s extensive experience in cable and digital entertainment, coupled with her strategic expertise, makes her the perfect choice to oversee the launch of this new venture.”

After working at UPN and Lifetime, Ms. Ostroff launched The CW, the CBS-Warner Brothers venture that dominates the teen demographic with shows like Gossip Girl and America’s Next Top Model.
