House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is coming to the big city this weekend, hosting a fundraiser at the Steinhardt Zoo in Bedford.
Later, Mr. Cantor will attend a panel discussion with Rabbi Schmuley Boteach on “Are American Values in Decline and How Can They Be Fixed?”
Press were invited to the fundraiser, but according to a spokesperson for the event, that invitation has since been rescinded.
Boteach is something of a controversial rabbi who often been criticized for his flamboyance and publicity-seeking. He is the author of the best-selling Kosher Sex and has been in the news of late due to his friendship with Michael Jackson.
Cantor meanwhile has been in stepping in controversy a bit himself mainly in his role as the primary opponent to President Obama’s jobs bill.
