There was some dislike there, more than a suggestion of needling discomfort between the two men as Assemblyman Nelson Albano (D-1) and GOP challenger Cumberland County Freeholder Sam Fiocchi of Vineland locked horns hard at tonight’s debate at Cape May Court House.
“You’ve been a freeholder for 20 minutes and an hour later you run for the Assembly then senator,” he snapped at Fiocchi. “What’s next, Sam? Congressman?”
Fiocchi said the incumbent’s record was all the motivation he needed.
“They were there,” the GOP challenger said of the Democrats. “I felt compelled to run.”
