Say hello to one of the oddest, funniest animated series since ‘South Park’

Brad Neely is a demonically gifted Austin-based artist who’s best known as the creator of Baby Cakes, The Professor Brothers, and other amazing animations. If you’ve seen Neely’s stuff, you might already know about his new show on Adult Swim. If not, you’re in for a serious treat.

China, IL (which takes place on and around the campus of a fictitious diploma mill) features a few of Neely’s best characters. It’s sillier, and more scatological, than Neely’s best animations. But like those animations, it’s very funny. The series kicked off earlier this week—it airs on Sunday nights—and you can prepare for it by watching a few of Neely’s greatest hits. We recommend “Bible History #1,” “Baby Cakes Sees a Play,” “History Lesson,” and “American Moments of Maybe,” none of which are safe for work, and all of which are linked to below.
