TRENTON – Nearly three dozen N.J. companies have been honored for their support of people with disabilities.
Thirty-five Garden State employers – including counties, utilities, and pharmaceutical companies – were named to a new honor roll, the N.J. Chamber of Commerce announced.
The Disabilities at Work Honor Roll includes corporate giants such as AT&T and Ikea and smaller outfits such as Fitzpatrick’s Jewish Style Deli in Somers Point and Pizza Como in Clinton.
The honor roll pays tribute to companies that have gone beyond mere compliance in their recruiting practices and offered philanthropic investments or provided more extensive support networks.
“People with disabilities have much to contribute to the workplace and to their communities,” said Dana Egreczky, president of the Chamber Foundation, said in a release. “Businesses that help people with disabilities overcome challenges and contribute to the bottom line deserve our thanks – and our business. We urge everyone to look for companies that display the unique Disabilities At Work logo and patronize them as often as possible.”
