TRENTON – Gov. Christie vetoed bills today that dealt with court-reporting firm regulations and surgical technologist qualifications.
In addition, the governor signed bills regarding green-job certification and cooperative purchasing agreements.
He gave a conditional veto to A1436/S397, which sought to provide that that the owner or operator of a court reporting firm must hold a registration certificate granted by the State Board of Court Reporting. This bill would also have required court reporting firms to employ only court reporters certified by the board or temporary court reporters registered with the board.
Also conditionally vetoed was A3946/S2817, which in part stated that a health care facility shall not employ or retain the services of an individual to perform surgical technology unless that individual has met certain conditions.
Christie signed A1098/S1648, which authorizes county colleges and county vocational school districts to establish green job certification programs.
Also, he signed A2786/S2721, which permits local units to participate in cooperative purchasing agreements.
