ELEC hopes OMB will restore $15,000 in compensation funds

TRENTON – Election Law Enforcement Commission Executive Director Jeff Brindle said today the commission will try to convince the Office of Management and Budget to not remove $15,000 in compensation funds for its governing body.

The account reimburses members for expenses they incur to attend meetings. The four members receive $250 per meeting, according to Joe Donahue, a deputy director.

The preliminary budget for ELEC is $4.35 million.

Donohue said OMB targeted the funds to be cut, but the funds remained intact at the end.

“This has been an issue in the past,” Donahue said.
