Online, today: a thrilling new film about an extreme sport we’d never even heard of

Have you ever heard of skylining—a European sport that combines elements of mountain climbing, slacklining, and BASE jumping? Neither had we. And then we saw the trailer for Sebastien Montaz-Rosset’s new film, I Believe I Can Fly.

The gorgeously filmed documentary follows a handful of French daredevils from the Verdon Gorge to Paris (where they enact scenes that Philippe Petit would have been proud of) and, finally, “to the spectacular cliffs and fjords of Norway.” It’s a lot of ground to cover in just 40 minutes, and the film flies by in a jiff. Today (11/11/11) you can watch the whole thing, free of charge, online.
