The New York Tech Meetup, now 19,524 members strong, is holding an election for one of the 13 positions on its board of directors. Last year, Anil Dash and Evan Korth were elected by members; so far, 28 people have been nominated for this election’s spots. The nominees are not official candidates until they accept their nominations.
“Not only will four Board members be directly elected by the broader membership (referred to as “Class B Members” in the Bylaws), but we’ve also decided that the Programming Committee, which governs our monthly Meetup and other programming, will always be Chaired by one of the member-elected Board members,” the NYTM says on its website.
New Work City is hosting a meet-the-candidates event tonight at 7 p.m. Nominations close tomorrow, candidates will speak on December 5 and the election will be held online starting December 6.
