The People's Library Trashed [Updated]

One of the more beloved corners of Zuccotti was The People’s Library, a collection of donated books that numbered more than 5000 volumes. It met the same fate as the rest of the possessions of Zuccotti Park:

Update, 4:03 p.m. The NYC Mayor’s Office, from their @NYCMayorsOffice Twitter account, is disputing that the People’s Library was destroyed, and tweeted out a picture of many books they say are being stored safely. “Property from #Zuccotti, incl #OWS library, safely stored @ 57th St Sanit Garage; can be picked up Weds”
