Dems Tweak Romney By Air

That’s by air, not on air.

New Yorkers should not be alarmed to find a strange aircraft circling the skies overhead today after the Democratic National Committee directed an airplane to fly between the George Washington Bridge and Hoboken with a 175 foot sign that reads: “Bet you 10k Romney’s Out of Touch  Mitts10KBet.com.”

That, of course, is a reference to Mr. Romney’s $10,000 wager with Rick Perry that he had details of his book wrong in last week’s debate.

“Today Mitt Romney’s coming to New York to fundraise from some of the wealthiest Americans who, just like Romney, are probably used to making $10,000 bets on the golf course or in a corporate boardroom,” Michael Czin, DNC spokesman. “To someone like Mitt Romney who is worth more than 200 million dollars, $10,000 may be pocket change, but to the American people it’s more than 4 months’ pay and almost three times what the average family spends on groceries in one year. Offering to make a bet with that kind of money in a nationally televised debate is just one more example of how tone-deaf Romney is to the needs of middle class Americans. From calling the President’s $1500 payroll tax credit a ‘temporary little Band-Aid,’ to joking that he’s unemployed despite being a multi-millionaire, Mitt Romney just doesn’t get it and Mitts10kbet.com will make sure voters know that with Mitt Romney, they’re on their own.”
