TRENTON – U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett (R-Wantage), issued a statement on the redistricting commission’s decision to combine his district with parts of Districts 8 and 9.
“The 5th District contains many towns and constituents that I have had the privilege to represent and several new towns and new constituents whom I look forward to meeting,” Garrett said in an email. “Some of the district’s lines may have changed, but my commitment to working to protect the family budget continues. Very important issues have been and will continue to be debated and voted on in Washington on behalf of New Jerseyans. I look forward to continuing my work to create jobs, decrease taxes, and rein in wasteful spending.
“A lot of thought and hard work went into this process. I would like to thank John Farmer, the commissioners, and the staff who worked very hard for many months to develop a redistricting plan for New Jersey.”
