‘Jessica’s Law’ passes Assembly; bill addresses road rage

TRENTON – The so-called “Jessica Rogers’ Law’’ that increases the degree of offense in certain cases for assault by auto, or road rage was approved in the Assembly by a vote of 69-0.

The law  A676, is named for a Hamilton Township, Mercer County woman who as a 16-year-old in 2005 was left severely injured as a victim of road rage.

Rogers, wheelchair bound, was present in the chamber for the vote and received a lengthy round of applause and standing ovation from the lawmakers after the vote.
