“I look forward to working with my new colleagues,” Mr. Wayne said in a statement, “and to deepening our understanding of Noguchi, his work and its place in the history of modern art and society. I am proud to join an institution that pioneered the development of Long Island City into one of New York’s most exciting arts destinations.”

The museum is dedicated to the career of Isamu Noguchi and was the first museum in America established by a living artist to house his own work. The first part of Noguchi’s catalogue raisonné was recently published online by the museum.
