Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34) moments ago swore in Assemblywoman Donna Simon (R-16) to the Assembly.
Simon earlier this month won an LD 16 convention to fill the seat occupied by the death last year of Assemblyman Pete Biondi.
She said in a release: “I look forward to working on the important issues facing our state such as job creation, improving our economy and providing tax relief.
“Governor Christie’s policy of fiscal discipline and a government that works on behalf of taxpayers is a successful formula that I fully support,” Simon said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in the General Assembly and will do my best to ensure the interests of my constituents are represented in Trenton.”
Assembly Republican Minority Leader Jon Bramnick, (R-21), Westfield, said, “Assemblywoman Simon will be an asset to our caucus and the Assembly. Her intellect and enthusiasm are important qualities that will be invaluable in serving the needs of her constituents.”
