Gillibrand Raises Off of Cenedella’s Stumbles

On Friday afternoon, another bad-news story came out about Marc Cenedella, the Internet entrepreneur who seriously considering mounting a challenge to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

According to a report in The Huffington Post, Mr. Cenedella was once sued for back pay and commissions by staffers at TheLadders, the Internet job search site that he founded. His staffers also accused him of threatening to punish them for taking the matter to the courts.

This, of course, comes on the heels of a report in The New York Times last week that Mr. Cenedella operated a blog that made sexist and derogatory remarks about women.

This morning, Sen. Gillibrand sent out a fundraising missive to her email supporters, slamming Mr. Cenedella by name as “an out-of-touch millionaire who writes sexist blog posts, thinks our high unemployment rate isn’t a problem, and sits on the leadership council of Club for Growth, an ultra-conservative organization that supports the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, and trashes Medicare and Social Security.” Read More
