The executive board of La Alianza Civica Ministerial, an organization of Hispanic pastors from Passaic County, today announced the endorsement of U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman for re-election in the 9th Congressional District.
La Alianza Civica Ministerial’s executive board, representing 120 churches in Passaic County, voted unanimously to support Congressman Rothman on Monday evening.
“This is a major, major endorsement for Steve and one of the most significant endorsements of the entire campaign,” said spokesman Paul Swibinski.
The executive board is comprised of Rev. David Rios (President), Rev. Fernando Santana, Rev. Elsa Colondres, Rev. Angel Feliciano, Rev. Frances Greene, Rev. Juan Chavarria, Rev. Lucila Molina, Rev. Angel Colon, Minister Victor Matos and Minister Maribel Maldonado.
“Based on Congressman Rothman’s legislative record, his commitment to public service and his personal beliefs on issues important to our community we believe Steve Rothman is the best person to serve the Hispanic community in Passaic County,” stated Executive Board President David Rios. “Through my personal conversations with Congressman Rothman I am confident that he will represent Passaic County honorably and stand as our voice in Washington.”
“I take great pride in the relationship I have built with the Hispanic community over the past 15 years, serving as the Congressman from the 9th District,” Rothman said in response. “The members of La Alianza Civica Ministerial and I share a profound commitment to faith and a common vision for our future. We believe in the same ideals and values that are the cornerstone of our communities. I am honored to have earned their support and thank them for putting their trust in me.”
