TRENTON – The Assembly passed bill A 3138, which approved funding for the Sayreville flood relief project.
The bill was sponsored by Assemblyman John Wisniewski ( d-19) of Sayreville.
The Senate approved its version, S2445. Both bills authorize $1 million in bonds be redirected toward that project.
The Senate bill passed 23-15, and the Assembly bill by a vote of 42-30.
At least one lawmaker, Sen. Kevin O’Toole, criticized the legislation as an earmark.
