Hollywood Life has an image of the upcoming Taylor Swift cover of Vogue. (Cruelly, a cover line invites us to get “Smooth, Young Skin Fast,” a mission we might achieve were we a wealthy 22-year-old singer.) Ms. Swift is following in the footsteps of past musical cover models Rihanna (April 2011), Lady Gaga (March 2011), Beyoncé (April 2009), Jennifer Hudson (March 2007), Jennifer Lopez (January 2005), Gwen Stefani (April 2004), Jewel (January 1999), and the Spice Girls (January 1998). Is the spring such a terrifically fallow season in the movie industry as to force an army of pop stars across the covers of our favorite clothes rag?
Rumor has it that Adele will be on the March 2012 cover, and we anticipate either Katy Perry or Lana Del Rey (heh, probably Perry’s more likely) on the April cover–and then, blessedly, it will be summer and movie stars will be back in vogue.
