As Fashion Week fast approaches, we’ve been getting into our semiannual haute-couture mind-set. Dusting off the designer duds, we’ve been culling our collection to make room for next season’s looks (Zac Posen out, Thierry Mugler in). While we have to wait another two weeks before hitting the tents, this afternoon we’ll welcome the season of vesture festivities at the annual Rising Star Fashion Awards luncheon. FLOTUS fav Isabel Toldeo will give the keynote speech, inspiring the next generation of couturiers in their vogue endeavors. Plus, we can dry-run one of our Fashion Week looks: We’re still not sure how we feel about that eagle-feather headdress (What? They’re endangered? This thing must be worth a fortune!), and since we fired our stylist last month, we’re eager to hear what these up-and-coming designers have to say about our latest efforts.
Rising Star Awards Luncheon, Cipriani 42nd Street, reception 11:15 a.m., awards ceremony 12 to 2 p.m. Tickets, from $160, available at http://fgi.org/store/page10.html.
