We’re here to tell you just how to set your DVR before heading out for drinks or dinner–or just watching something better on TV!
Tabatha’s Salon Takeover was a weird little show on Bravo; the series, starring a brusque Australian hairdresser who ordered around stylists in order to improve their businesses, had none of the cattiness of The Real Housewives franchise or even a Top Chef, nor the ongoing plotlines. Tabatha would drop in to a strip-mall salon in some forsaken burg, fix everyone’s attitudes and skills (the two problems at a badly-run salon, always, are lenient managers and poor application of highlights-applying technique), then pick up her umbrella and fly away like that Simpsons episode about Shary Bobbins the nanny. It was comfortably formulaic.
Her new series for Bravo, Tabatha Takes Over, theoretically expands the Tabatha universe to other sorts of business establishments–though in tonight’s new episode, she’s “taking over” another salon, this one in Cherry Hills, N.J. Spread your wings, Tabatha! Take over noted media outlet Salon.com! Anyway, DVR this for the three mandatory cutaways to Tabatha’s eyes popping out after she sees something unsanitary, but don’t set a season pass unless you need the sound of comfortingly familiar noises while you work or nap!
Set your DVR for Bravo at 10pm to catch Tabatha Takes Over.
