Before his sudden death while on a reporting trip in Syria yesterday, New York Times foreign correspondent Anthony Shadid was scheduled to return to the US for a twenty-city book tour to promote his memoir, House of Stone, due out March 27.
Today the publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, moved the publication date up to February 28, the New York Times reported. It hopes to recruit friends and colleagues of Mr. Shadid’s to talk about his life and work for the late reporter’s previously scheduled media appearances.
