Ms. Tomei has been sued for causing water damage to several downstairs apartments at her New York home, 59 West 12th Street. While the cause of the leak is reportedly unknown, we imagine it’s the old starlet asleep in the running bathtub scenario.

In a perfect twist of semantic and Hollywood fate, one of the damaged apartments belongs to director John Waters.

In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, three insurance companies charge it was Tomei’s “negligence” that led to $130,000 worth of water damage to her Greenwich Village apartment building.

That includes $15,000 worth of damage to an apartment belonging to downstairs neighbor — and “Hairspray” director — John Waters

Imagine that—John Waters gets wet.
