PALISADES PARK – Gov. Chris Christie mocked former Gov. Jon Corzine today to laughs at his town hall meeting here in this northern Bergen County town.
“He always looked kind of in pain in this job,” said Christie to mounting giggles in the auence here in the high school gym.
“‘Oh, it’s so hard, it’s so hard,'” said Christie, imitating someone under duress.
“When I told Mary Pat I wanted to run for governor, she said, ‘You can never complain about the job because you asked for it,'” the governor recalled.
Looking back on the exchange, the governor said he appreciated his wife’s advice on that score.
In contrast to Corzine, Christie said, “I love this job and I’m having fun. Everyone’s job is hard so people don’t want hear their governor complain when their jobs are just as hard.”
