Hart seeks Sussex GOP chairmanship

An elected member of the committee for 12 years and current municipal chair of Hardyston, Kelly Ann Hart wants to be chair of the Sussex County Republican Committee.

“Sussex County’s voter registration numbers have dropped,” said Hart. “Our finances have suffered. We no longer have an office in which to do business. Too many dedicated members of the committee have lost interest and expressed displeasure over the current state of affairs in our county. This is unacceptable for the Republican Party in Sussex County.”

Hart is challenging incumbent Chair Ailish Hambel for the leadership position.

“Barak Obama and Bob Menendez are at the top of the ticket in 2012,” said Hart. “In order to defeat them and to ensure the re-election of Congressmen Garrett and Frelinghuysen, we need to register more voters, raise more money and regain the trust of our members. I have been doing this for 12 years. Governor Christie and U.S. Senate candidate Joe Kyrillos have begun the ‘Jersey Comeback.’ Sussex County needs to be ready; I believe that I am the best person to make sure that we are.”
