After a career that managed to encompass Star Trek, two Emmys, a CBS sitcom based on a Twitter feed and an unlikely music career, William Shatner’s going to make it on Broadway. (We can’t exactly call an 80-year-old an up-and-comer, can we?) Shatner’s World: We Just Live in It, which opens tonight at the Music Box Theatre (preceding a national tour), promises jokes, storytelling, and music—it’s like that Elaine Stritch one-woman show, with an audience of Trekkies instead of ladies who lunch! We’ll be waiting by the stage door with our copy of his record Has Been, eagerly awaiting an autograph.
Music Box Theatre, 239 West 45th Street, 8 p.m. Tickets available at the box office and broadway.com.
