An amused reader passes along a palm card being distributed in Brooklyn on behalf of President Barack Obama’s campaign apparatus and paid for by the Democratic National Committee. The literature, sent out by City Council candidate Robert Cornegy Jr. and his Democratic Club, is largely a standard affair touting President Obama’s accomplishments in the African-American community.
However, it does make one noticeable error in the main headline on the back page, referring to “President Baraka Obama.”
(Whoops.)
Mr. Cornegy, who’s also a District Leader and delegate for President Obama at the Democratic National Convention, is a likely candidate to replace term-limited Councilman Al Vann.
Other possible candidates include Pastor Robert Waterman and community activist Mark Winston Griffith, who both have campaign committees open for the 2013 campaign, as well as Kirsten John Foy, an aide to Public Advocate Bill de Blasio.
