Former assistant U.S. attorneys back Kwon

TRENTON – In the lead-up to Thursday’s Supreme Court nominee hearings before the Senate Judiciary, a group of former assistant U.S. attorneys has sent a letter to legislative leaders backing Phillip Kwon for the state Supreme Court.

The letter, sent to Senate President Sweeney, Judiciary Chairman Nicholas Scutari, Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, and Minority Leader Thomas Kean Jr., said in part that “Phil Kwon’s experience and qualifications to serve on our State’s highest Court are impeccable.”

The letter references Kwon’s work in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and says, “In our experience, Phil approached the law with a reasoned and objective approach that is well suited to the work of a Justice.”
