Tim Harrington, the charismatic frontman of New York indie fixture Les Savy Fav, is publishing a children’s book.
The book is a “humorous, fresh take on the nursery rhyme ‘This Little Piggy,’ featuring drumming, dancing, and superhero toes,” according to the deal report on Publisher’s Marketplace. William Morris Endeavor’s Andy McNicol sold it to Alessandra Balzer at Balzer & Bray, a children’s imprint at HarperCollins.
Fans and parents eager for a sneak peek can view Mr. Harrington’s illustrations at the website of his one-man think tank, Harrington & Selves, “a very special organization committed to an ideal that one person can, in fact, excel at everything.” Earlier this year, he gave away twelve of his pieces in a drawing called Free:2012.
“I’m currently representing myself and am looking for opportunities to participate in gallery shows as well as illustration projects,” he wrote on Harrington & Selves. “Starting… now.
