Scutari says administration not being transparent with Judiciary Committee

Senator Nick Scutari (D-22), Linden, said he doesn’t have all the critical materials he needs from the Chris Christie Administration concerning the governor’s Supreme Court nominees, Phillip Kwon and Bruce Harris.

The pair are scheduled to go before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday and Scutari said the dossier of intel he wanted from the administration is too thin for his comfort.

“Here we are, 45 hours ahead of the hearings and I don’t have critical information about the nominees, including finanical information,” said Scutari, who chairs the committee. “I don’t expect them to release all the information we’re seeking at this point, but we will continue to try.”

Scutari and Christie have hit heads hard throughout the governor’s tenure.

They don’t get along.

The administration is irritated with the senator for sitting on nominations. Sources say Scutari thinks the governor expects others to operate with one set of rules and a different set for himself.
