Senate clears several bills

TRENTON – The following bills were unanimously approved by the Senate at its Thursday session. They are:

S874- A bill revising the NJ STARS and NJ STARS II Programs.

S71- A bill establishing “New Jersey Yellow Dot Program” in the state Motor Vehicles Commission.

S298- A bill revising statutes concerning dental hygienists and dentists.

S420 – A bill requiring the governor notify local governments to fly United States and New Jersey flags at half-staff upon death of member of Armed Forces of United States or National Guard who was State resident.

S450 – A bill requiring property tax bills to contain eligibility information on state tax relief programs.

S447- A bill requiring spousal consent to election of certain pension payout options under TPAF, JRS and PERS.

S527 – A bill authorizing local public contract set-aside program for business enterprises that are owned by or that employ veterans.

S1171 – A bill prohibiting genital mutilation of girls age 18 and under.

S1366 – A bill designating State Highway Route 31 as the “Tri-County Purple Heart Memorial Highway.”

SJR24 – A resolution designating February of each year as “Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month” in New Jersey.

SJR36 – A resolution designating June 2012 as “Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia Awareness Month.”

SJR37 – A resolution designating federal Route 46 bridge in the Town of Dover as “Officer Thomas E. DeShazo Memorial Bridge.”
