Likely 2013 gubernatorial challenger state Sen. Barbara Buono, (D-18), Metuchen, upbraided Gov. Chris Christie over the Republican governor’s scheduled trip to Wisconsin Tuesday.

Christie reportedly will appear at fundraisers for Gov. Scott Walker, who is facing a historic recall election in June.

More than 900,000 of Walker’s constituents signed petitions seeking his recall.

“Our governor seems more concerned with one man’s job in Wisconsin than the legions of unemployed constituents at home,” Buono said. “It’s not as if Scott Walker has any advice to offer. Wisconsin lost more jobs over the past 12 months than any other state.

“Governor Walker destroyed collective bargaining rights for the working class in Wisconsin, and then eliminated a pay equality bill protecting women, the elderly and disabled workers,” Buono added. “If that wasn’t bad enough, Walker cut taxes for the rich to the tune of billions of dollars — all at the expense of schools. No coincidence, these are also Governor Christie’s priorities: empowering millionaires, weakening the working class, and allowing our education system to suffer. Our residents have real and imminent problems that can’t be solved traipsing around the Midwest politicking.”
