Murakami to Open Berlin Gallery

Takashi Murakami and his Kaikai Kiki production company will open a gallery in Berlin, Flash Art reports. The gallery, Hidari Zingaro Berlin, will officially open in June with a preview featuring “live painting” this weekend.

Hidari Zingaro Berlin marks the artist’s first gallery outside Asia. According to Wikipedia, he currently operates five galleries in Japan, one under the name Kaikai Kiki and four under the name Hidari Zingaro. The artist’s own work is shown at Gagosian.

The artist currently has a major show, “Ego,” up in Doha, presented by the Qatar Museums Authority. Murakami to Open Berlin Gallery
