Report: Hamilton School District served with subpoena

The Times of Trenton is reporting that the Hamilton Township School District has been served with two subpoenas tied to the extortion case that has ensnared Mayor John Bencivengo.

Erin Duffy, the Times reporter who broke the story that Bencivengo was the subject of a federal investigation, reports that the subpoenas request “any information related to federal grants received from the U.S. Department of Education and reams of data — including any contracts, resolutions, financial records and audio and video recordings — related to health insurance business from Jan. 1, 2006 to the present.”

The FBI took no documents from the district, according to the report.
