Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, who has done recent shows in New York of Outtara Watts and Retna, has announced a new exhibition in Istanbul titled “Nicolas Pol: Epektasis.” Mr. Roitfeld’s last show was of work by Nicolas Pol, inside an Upper East Side mansion owned by Aby Rosen.
The show will open Thursday at the gallery Istanbul ’74, located in Süha Fazlı Han, a 150-year-old mercantile building in the historic district of Karaköy in Istanbul. Mr. Pol will present large-scale paintings.
This is Mr. Pol’s first exhibition in Turkey. The title, “Epektasis,” comes from an ancient Turkish philosophy about personal extension.
