Teamsters Joint Council No. 73 today endorsed Congressman Bill Pascrell in the June 5th Democratic 9th District primary.
Based in Springfield, the joint council is made up of 16 Teamsters Locals, representing more than 50,000 workers statewide.
“Congressman Pascrell’s voting record and strong presence in Washington, D.C. stand second to none. The State of New Jersey and our Country can not lose with him there,” said Aphonse Rispoli, President of Joint Council No. 73. “He is the Congressman that stands up front and goes the extra mile to ensure not only Teamsters families, but that all working families have a say in the direction our Country is going.”
“I am so honored to receive the endorsement of Teamsters Joint Council No. 73,” said Pascrell. “They know that I have been a tireless fighter on behalf of New Jersey’s working families my entire career, and I will never let them down. Arm in arm with my sisters and brothers in Joint Council No. 73 and the many other unions supporting me, we will be victorious on primary day and thereafter.”
In addition to Joint Council No. 73’s endorsement, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLE&T), a Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Rail Conference, is backing Pascrell in the primary.
“The hardworking men and women of New Jersey Need Bill Pascrell in Washington,” said Matt Kronyak, head of the New Jersey State Legislative Board of the BLE&T a Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Rail Conference. “He has led the fight on many major issues supporting the people of New Jersey over his years in Congress, and he has never turned your back on the families of New Jersey.”
