TRENTON – The Assembly Consumer Affairs Committee released two bills today that seek to protect social media users from having to divulge passwords to employers or higher-education officials.

The bills – A2878 and A2879 – sponsored by John Burzichelli, (D-3), West Deptford, seek to address the problem of lack of privacy as technology advances. The bills were approved 3-0 in each case with DiAnne Gove, (R-9), Forked River abstaining pending amendments.
