Quartz is still in hiring mode and is building a team of about 25 journalists, developers, designers, and ad salespeople based out of SoHo, according to the release. WSJ.com managing editor Kevin Delaney was poached to run Quartz’s editorial; he was soon joined by WSJ’s social media guy, Zach Seward, who will serve as senior editor.

According to the release, its mission is to serve “today’s new class of global business leaders – digitally-savvy, post-national executives who seek information that will help them better navigate the new global economy” with “innovative smartphone and tablet experiences.”
