Assemblywoman Grace Meng has raised over $750,000 in her campaign for a northeastern Queens Congressional District so far, making her one of the best non-incumbent fundraisers in the entire State of New York. With less than two weeks to go before Election Day, having that big of a war chest will enable her to effectively carpet bomb the district with campaign literature and the like.

In a statement announcing the fundraising haul this morning, Ms. Meng deflected the attention towards her campaign messaging.

“I am truly humbled by the strong support our campaign has received in recent weeks, but this campaign is about much more than financial support,” she said. “It’s about standing up for working, middle class families in Queens, making sure millionaire’s pay their fair share and protecting and preserving Social Security and Medicare at all costs.”

Ms. Meng is competing in the district’s Democratic primary against Assemblyman Rory Lancman and Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley. Neither is expected to match her dollar-for-dollar when their fundraising totals emerge, but both will likely have the resources to pepper the district with plenty of campaign mailers of their own.

Voters head to the polls on June 26th.
