Be sure to swing by the always excellent Callicoon Fine Arts on the Lower East Side tomorrow night for an opening of new work by Luther Price. Mr. Price is an experimental filmmaker who mostly works with found footage and was recently featured in the Whitney Biennial, though the works in this show were made after the ones seen there, Callicoon’s Photios Giovanis said via e-mail. “Most of the images were made more recently,” he wrote, “and using newly developed techniques – especially the use of salt to deteriorate the image and the trapping of drops of liquid in the slides.” Great stuff! See for yourself.
