More Insane Renderings of Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s New Columbia Med School Tower

Diller Scofidio + Renfro is designing a new 14-story med school building for Columbia University Medical Center with Gensler.
The lobby, like much of the building, is open to the street.
The school is on Haven Avenue between West 171st and West 172nd streets.
A cafe typifies the sort of cross-department interaction meant to happen in the "study cascade," the common spaces stacked up behind glass on the southern side of the tower.

The cascade also provides some striking views.
Ample open space, too.
The building rests within the larger CUMC complex.

Haven't we seen those benches before, on the High Line?
The tower glows at night.
