One of the most powerful women in Washington politics and one of the most powerful women in New York City politics took a spin on the dancefloor together last night. A tipster sent this shot of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn boogie-ing together at a gala fundraising reception for Congressman Jerry Nadler.
Ms. Pelosi was billed as a “special guest” at the reception, which was a celebration of Mr. Nadler’s 20th year in Congress. The event was held at the Bryant Park Grill.
Mr. Nadler doesn’t have anyone running against him this year and he scheduled his fundraising bash the same night President Barack Obama had a trio of Manhattan fundraisers, but our sources said the congressman still managed to draw about 200 supporters including several prominent elected officials. In addition to Ms. Pelosi and Ms. Quinn our tipster said Congressman Eliot Engel and Public Advocate Bill de Blasio were also in attendance.
