TRENTON – The Senate did not vote on the tanning bill today.
The bill, S1172, would ban indoor tanning bed use by those under 16 and allow it for those ages 16-18 so long as a parent is present for the initial consultation.
The bill has been watered down from its initial introduction, which would have banned indoor tanning beds for those under 18.
After the bill passed the Assembly last month, it was heavily amended in Senate committee, which hoped to hold onto the ban for people 18 or younger.
