This is a guest post from Gary Sharma (aka “The Guy with the Red Tie”), founder and CEO of GarysGuide and proud owner of a whole bunch of black suits, white shirts and, at last count, over 40 red ties. You can reach him at gary [at] garysguide.com.
I’ve always been a big fan of Dave McClure, and that’s even more true after reading his recent blog post, a wonderfully honest, inspiring, straight-from-the-heart outpouring of his experiences and the ups and downs of life in Silicon Valley. Definitely a must-read.
Speaking of Dave, he and the folks from 500 Startups will be in town later this month for their Demo Day, a private, invite-only showcase of their fourth accelerator batch. They will also be organizing The Smash Summit, which will be all about the ‘new skool’ of online customer acquisition, in-depth case studies & “hack-tics” using platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, & more. Don’t miss it!
And now let’s see what’s going down in the Alley this week…
