Cornell-Bechelli done in New Jersey for Obama

Obama Campaign Director Jackie Cornell-Bechelli is outta here.

She’s going to the battleground west of here to serve as Pennsylvania Deputy Field Director for the Obama campaign, according to an email she sent to party allies this afternoon.

“As you may have heard, I am transitioning to work for the Obama campaign in Pennsylvania starting this week,” Cornell-Bechelli wrote. “While it was a difficult decision to leave New Jersey, my mission has been clear from the beginning: re-elect President Obama and continue to move America forward.

“Over the past 8 months, we have held volunteer-lead events across the state and engaged volunteers from all walks of life. When we needed 1,000 signatures to place the President on the June Primary ballot, we exceeded the legal requirement over 10 times. In a few short weeks, we are sending one of the most geographically and culturally diverse delegations to the DNC Convention in memory. We’ve mobilized students and seniors, veterans and teachers, members of the GLBT and faith communities, people of all genders and races, New Jerseyeans from every county in the state – all focused on what it would take to get us to 270 electoral votes in November. I am proud of what we have done – and will continue to do together.”

Monmouth County Democrat Geoffrey Borshof will join the campaign as the new N.J. State Director.
