TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie is scheduled to sign a crime victim’s “bill of rights” today.
A2380 is named after former Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce, who championed the cause. DeCroce passed away Jan. 9 at the age of 75 following a marathon Assembly voting session.
Among other things, the bill would require that victims be notified about the progress of their case, provide greater consideration to a victim’s impact statement, and requires victims to be notified of the release or escape of a defendant.
