We didn’t see the career of our favorite Charlie’s Angel taking this turn; after finding acclaim with her roller-derby directorial debut Whip It, drew barrymore is to direct The End, a drama about the apocalypse. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The End is to be a humanistic look at individuals around the world dealing with the certainty of imminent doom. Sounds closer to Deep Impact (which was also, as is unfortunately rare for a big-budget flick, directed by a woman) than Armageddon. Ms. Barrymore’s most recent on-screen appearance was in the whale-rescue drama Big Miracle–and she won’t be in The End.
