SOUTH AMBOY – Gov. Chris Christie described U.S. Senate hopeful Joe Kyrillos as a “dear friend,” and said he plans to support the state senator in the days leading up to the November election.
“I’ve been helping Joe, he’s an old friend,” Christie said today in response to a resident at a town hall who asked whether Christie would help Kyrillos in his bid to unseat Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.)
The governor told residents he was the one who introduced the Republican state senator to the woman who became his wife, explaining he goes back many years with Kyrillos.
“I’ll work real hard for him,” he said. “We’re going to continue to work hard.”
