HOWELL – Gov. Chris Christie thanked New Jersey residents for standing beside him during the fight for teacher tenure reform in the state.
The governor expressed gratitude to residents who he said kept fighting with him while teachers’ unions spent countless dollars on running attack ads on the governor while he pushed for tenure reform.
“All I wanted was accountability,” he said during a town hall here today. “Well, this is where I have to thank all of you because after two years of that you stood with me.”
The governor said he’s “really proud of the fact that in this state we reformed tenure,” saying “nobody should be guaranteed a job for life after three years and one day.”
