U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez holds an 11-point lead over his challenger, state Sen. Joe Kyrillos, as Menendez vies for re-election to the Senate.
The Democrat leads Kyrillos 43 percent to 32 percent, with the poll showing both men still have issues with name recognition. Just 60 percent of poll respondents were familiar with Menendez. Of those, 33 percent hold a favorable view of him versus 27 percent who have an unfavorable view of the Hudson County pol.
Kyrillos holds a largely favorable standing (15 percent favorable against 8 percent unfavorable) among those who know who he is, but name recognition remains a challenge.
The poll was conducted Sept. 9 through 12 among 600 likely New Jersey voters in the November presidential election. It has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
